Smell da perfume

To this day, I still have not read a convincing explanation as to why dogs love to roll themselves in days-old carcasses, cow dung, or other stinky (to human standards) substances. The general rule seems to be the stinkier the better, with some dogs displaying clear preferences for particular disgusting odours. Most are in such ecstasy about doing it that I do let it happen once in a while, even though it means a vigorous lather when we get home.
