Mira defied euthanasia

In a nutshell:

  • Mira, a Mastiff/German Shepherd mix, was born in the US from a sick mother.
  • When her mother died, Mira and here litter mates were ordered to be put down. The euthanised bodies were stored in the shelter freezer.
  • Four days later, a shelter worker found Mira alive and nursed her back to health
  • He/she defied orders to have her put down again.
  • Mira now has a new home.

How cool is that?

Read the full details of Mira’s story in the Chicago Tribune.
